SQL*LIMS® eNotebook

June 2007
Labtronics Inc., a world leader in laboratory data integration and management solutions is pleased to announce that Applied Biosystems, developers of the SQL*LIMS® P4™ Business Solution for Pharmaceutical QA/QC, will now be distributing Labtronics’ Nexxis qELN, Electronic Laboratory Notebook for QA/QC laboratories, as part of the long standing partnership agreement between these two organizations.

Nexxis qELN introduces a new breed of informatics technology that utilizes a web-based client to make instrument data capture and procedural compliance easier for end users by integrating laboratory systems, with instruments, people and manual procedures, in real time. This partnership agreement will further extend the functionality and flexibility of SQL*LIMS by connecting directly with the analysts and all information and data sources in the lab, as analyses are being carried out.

SQL*LIMS users will be able to use the Nexxis web client to select work lists from SQL*LIMS, review an SOP from a document management system, and then be guided through each step of the analysis in a completely controlled fashion. Control of work schedules and resources will be completely automatic so that the right decisions are always made. Potential errors are caught in real time before they happen, instead of days or weeks later. During a recent interview, Peter Boogaard, Director, Product Management and Marketing at Applied Biosystems commented, “This development is in line with Labtronics’ and Applied Biosystems’ on-going strategy to provide next-generation LIMS solutions for the laboratory industry."

SQL*LIMS® Raises the Bar for LIMS

June 2007
SQL*LIMS Raises the Bar for LIMS
SQL*LIMS P4 may result in to 85% cost savings and 75% time savings
At Applied Biosystems, we know that successful LIMS solutions must integrate a heterogeneous mix of technologies and data systems and extend beyond the laboratory. That’s why with SQL*LIMS® we are raising the bar for LIMS to provide an end-to-end business solution for manufacturing QA/QC. Without the need for extensive customization or compromising end-user
satisfaction, we have integrated lot/batch management, stability testing including stability analytics, environmental monitoring (EM), Quality Event management (CAPA, OOS, QEMS), and the electronic notebook into SQL*LIMS. As a single-source data repository, SQL*LIMS seamlessly incorporates these disparate pools of data that are typically manually processed or stored in separate systems across QA/QC functions.

The SQL*LIMS suite is the only solution available today that integrates a full set of data required by the QA/QC organization. Full Scientific Computing article

Coastal Water Project

Tracking data for coastal water monitoring project management
The mission of the Southwest Florida Water Management District Laboratory is to analyze water resources and ensure data availability for the purpose of maximizing public health, environmental, economic and recreational benefits. Towards that end the laboratory uses SQL*LIMS to provide data support in order to undertake projects such as the irrigation well back-plugging program. In coastal and southern regions of the District ground water quality in the highly productive, deep portion of the Floridian aquifer is generally marginal to poor. Investigations by District staff indicate that agricultural pumping in the highly productive zone of the Floridian aquifer can cause localized upward movement of poor-quality water into the production wells. To address the issue, a back-plugging program has been established. Back plugging to a recommended well depth will help sustain surface water resources and assist in maintaining ground-water resources for the agricultural community. The District laboratory uses SQL*LIMS Software to supply data to program scientists that allows them to ensure optimum conditions have been met for each well.
